2/18/2015 · 02 vx commodore rattles when accelerating mostly up hill when i put my foot down while rattling there’s a clunk recently had break pads done, service, coil pack leads replaced, (not coil pack) fuel filter, also rattles a little bit when reversing sounds like the noise is.

It will be a faint sound when the car is idling in ‘park’ mode, but the volume and frequency will increase in proportion to acceleration. It could indicate the last stage of the converter’s life.

9/3/2016 · The first symptom of these chains failing is a check engine warning light , followed by rattling nosies particularly on start up. Sounds like you might have different problem. maybe transmission fault or a fuel supply issue.
5/15/2017 · Ive got a VZ 2005 commodore sv6 that upon acceleration makes a rumble sound and rattles . when i lift off the throttle it goes quiet again. mobile mechanic has inspected and cant find anything wrong and neither has an exhaust specialist. Its just recently had a radiator change as engine oil was put into the coolant system. Im nearly at my wits end!, VT 2000 Commodore SPAC .. car makes a loud knocking sound like there is something loose … but only on acceleration . I have been to two mechanics , one said that it could be the gearbox and the other said it might be in the engine. That is all the info I got. I don’t think either of them were 100% sure.
